Caf Confederation Cup: Predicting Orlando Pirates' XI to face Simba SC

By n8rngtd.top

The Buccaneers are back at home as they seek to overturn the defeat they suffered in Dar es Salaam last weekend

Orlando Pirates host Simba SC in the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup quarter-finals at Orlando Stadium on Sunday.

The Soweto giants will go into this match intending to stage a comeback after suffering a 1-0 defeat in the first leg away last weekend.

It is a huge test for the Buccaneers whose character could be stretched to see if they have the temperament to claw back in such a crucial match.

Pirates co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids would want to select the strongest team and employ the best tactics to overturn the first leg result.

GOAL predicts how the Buccaneers could line up against the Tanzanians on Sunday.

    GOALKEEPER – Richard Ofori

After being beaten from the penalty spot in the first leg in Dar es Salaam, it was the first time Ofori conceded after keeping four clean sheets.

Now with the Buccaneers at home, the Ghana international would be out to guard Pirates' goal and make sure they don't concede in their own backyard.

    RIGHT-BACK – Bandile Shandu

With Pirates hard-pressed to get a goal from the first whistle, Shandu would be hoping his overlapping runs result in an assist or a goal from his boot.

He already has four goals to his name in the Confederation Cup.

    LEFT-BACK – Innocent Maela

Paseka Mako has been ruled out for the rest of the season and Maela has been an easy choice to step in.

Maela did well in Tanzania as he played 90 minutes and on Sunday he would be hoping for a performance that would help Pirates advance to the semi-finals.
